Custom made for the purpose of bringing back the real meaning of Christmas, the Sands of Bethlehem ornaments were designed to not only represent the story of Christ’s birth, but to remind everyone of the lessons that Jesus taught as well – lessons of unconditional love, forgiveness, compassion, hope and healing.
These extraordinary ornaments are works of art created by using a sand-cast mold that is formed from molten metal.
- Day One. Using a Renaissance-era technique, the glassblower creates what is called a ‘mother mold’; just as the Creator molds each of us in His image.
- Day Two. Liquid sterling is injected by hand into the ornament, creating a luminescence that seems to glow from within, reminding you of Christ’s love.
- Day Three. Each ornament has a base coat of matte lacquer which is applied by hand. The grace of Jesus covers each of us in a similar way, converting us from what we once were.
- Day Four. The other colors are applied on top of the base coat, resulting in the transformation of the ornament into a visual delight, the way we are transformed by the Holy Spirit into new creations.
- Day Five. Just as each one of us is a unique creation, each of the Sands of Bethlehem ornaments has distinctive touches that are a result of the painted details meticulously applied by hand.
- Day Six. This is the day when the ornaments truly become treasures. Like the mercy of God gently raining down on us, a sprinkling of sand from the Holy Land is tenderly applied to each work of art.
- Day Seven. While God may have rested on the seventh day, our inspectors work hard to make sure that each piece has achieved the highest level of perfection that sets our ornaments apart. They are then carefully placed in their own keepsake boxes and made ready for shipment.
These timeless treasures can serve to remind you and your family of the birth of the Christ Child and the journey Jesus took across the Sands of Bethlehem.
